Spent the last couple of days on the Big Pond with clients.Water temps in the am are in the low 50's and up to about 55 later in the afternoon. We fished the southern rocks exclusively and encounered fish on all of them. Some fish are on top, some are on the edge.Lots of lookers lately, but that changed yesterday afternoon. We boated a fat 53" on the 8.She ate a casted Slammer Deep Minnow.I love Fall!!!! mr jonesi, what kind of boat are you running? we must have crossed paths on one reef of another, it was quite crowded this past week. i'am in the middle of my worst year ever, only 3 fish in the boat all season with a mid 40"er being the biggest. i have seen some fish but nothing real aggressive. it seems like someone in every boat is throwing a bull dawg so i have been using more cranks than plastics.

Tom,
I'm running a dark blue 620 Tiller w/ a 115 Yammy.Seemed like a good number of muskie boats out Mon. and Tuesday. The Pond has been really tough at times for myself and many others I know.If you see me out there, stop and say hi.Keep chuckin' and windin'. Steve

Just got back from the Pond. Fished two reefs on the north end, saw one Sat. Fished from sun up to sun down! Trolled on the south rocks for a couple of hours today no rips. Still cant catch a fish in Oct. on the Pond! Ready to start fishing Walleyes/perch after Sept!

I am planning on heading up to Mille Lacs in a couple of weeks if the weather cooperates. I had good luck one trip in early Oct. (47"), and I decided I wanted to go back later. It doesn't work out for me until 11/5 weekend. If it is over 40 degrees I am planning on going. Does anyone have any experience fishing that late? Does it stay good pretty much until the ice comes, or does the water get too cold and they shut down first? Thanks for any replys!

there has been a really hot walleye bite at night on the puddle. there have been some nice pike caught also. as far as the muskie bite goes, it has been very poor. it sounds like the whole lake has been slow. i have not targeted muskie at night this fall, but at this point i'll try anything. when i lived in minneapolis i fished minnetonka alot at night with very good secsess. as of thursday night the water temp was at 47degs....tom f

I spent last Tuesday (November 1st) fishing the west and south sides of Mille Lacs. It was really slow and there wasn't anything doing. We casted and trolled and never saw a single Muskie. Water temps were about 48.

The husband of a lady I work with was on a guided Mille Lacs trip yesterday and saw about 25 fish all on bulldawgs. I am not sure of the location or the guide but he landed a 51X25. Apparently this guide said it was his year and that he has caught 10 over 50 on Mille Lacs this year.
