Does anyone know when the last year Loon Lake in Antioch, Il (Lake County) was stocked with muskies by either an MI club or the IDNR?

Mike,
Thanks for the info. This same guy asked the question to one of our board members of our FRV chapter and I was trying to run down the information for him.

I am pretty sure the dnr stocked it last in 97. Now if they could just arrest and fine the bozo who filled in the channell and assure the ramp not closing, all will be good.

What is the possiblity/or how realistic would it be for local clubs to stock the lake in lieu of the DNR not stocking it anymore. The rumor i heard that they stopped stocking was due to the ramp being purchased by a private citizen in the late 90's. It is a shame that lake isnt regularly stocked any more. I am aware they are still in there but a healthy population and another lake to use would be awesome.

We planned to stock Loon but the homeowners association voted it down this past Summer. A shame, but we are going to stock another lake next year once we have the necessary approvals!

So, with the launch being private, I assume we probably can't fish there anyomre?

It is a pay launch but there has been a for sale sign on it since forever. I think the launch has always been private, just a matter of what a new owner would do to it. That and the moron who lives on the channel to east loon filled it in.

This has probably been addressed in the years past but is there any way to convince the DNR to begin re-stocking Loon? Even with "extra" fish (fingerling or fry) left over from hatcheries (if that even happens). The public has had access to the lake so we would all benefit from it.
