| Hello,
I have a question about muskie stocking in Illinois.
How do I find out what local muskie club, group, or chapter would provide me with info on Loon Lake in Antioch, IL?
I have tried the Loon Lake lake management association, the IDNR, local hatcheries in Northern Illinois without anyone giving me the info that I need.
Either they want to keep this hush hush, or muskie stocking is top secret.
My question is when was the last time this lake was stocked with muskies?
I have heard many rumors that local muskie groups stopped the stocking because of the threat of this lake going private.
If so, I don't want to waste anytime fishing this lake anymore, because I hear that the hybrid muskies can't reproduce. I'm not sure if this is true, just what I have been told.
Any help would be great

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | Hi Rich- you may want to talk to Steven Rusteberg (Pro Muskie Fisherman). He's definitely one of the most informed on the state of muskie stocking/fishing in Illinois- He's got a great website- with some really interesting articles on muskies and muskie stocking etc.

Location: Wheaton, Il. | I've been looking for Illinois Stocking data also. I've been able to find data from the IDNR for years up to 2003, but can't find anything after that. Does the data get published a year or two later? Does the IDNR still stock muskies in Illinois?

| Join Muskies Inc. or get hold of a member with past issues of the mag. Ill stocking has been discussed at length in that mag. |
