What could be the problem? The white utility works but the red/green do not light up?

First thing....check the bulb for the red/green. It's usally just one bulb that lights up both halves of the light. If it's not the bulb, I'd check the male and female connectors where you put the light in the holder. Make sure they aren't corroded up. If that's not it, trace the wires back from the bottom of the holder to wherever they get power from (I'm assuming either the front control panel or the battery). Make sure there aren't any pinched wires or rub throughs.

If it's not one of those three??? PUNT.

There should be three wires running from the light holder to the power supply. One should be black. That's the ground wire. There shouldn't be a problem with that one if the work light is working. The other wire should be red and probably one other colored one (possibly purple??, that seems to be a popular 2nd color for power wires on boats or it could be gray with a stripe on it) One of the remaining two wires will be the power supply for the work light. The other one, I'll guess it's going to be the red one, should be the one that has some type of a connection problem.

Do you have an electrical tester of some kind? If not go to Mendards or Home Depot and get a cheap $10 multi tester. You'll be looking for one that tests 12v DC circuits. Once you have one, it'll make tracking down the short real easy. Just start at the light and check each splice or connection until you find power. That will be the last place the power runs to. The short or break will be somewhere after that and towards the light holder.
