Fellas,

Just started having trouble with my 50lb Minnkota yesterday. For some reason, I lost power to everything on the front deck of the boat. Locator, GPS, Light, and trolling motor all kicked off after working just fine for the first couple hours of fishing. I ran around and used the main motor for the rest of the day before I got it home. I took a look at the wiring today and checked the fuses which were all fine. No bad connections or anything. I put it back together and the power is back. Got it out on the lake today only to find that the motor will only run on one speed......warp. I have it set down to zero and all I get is the highest power. I cant for the life of me think of what it could be so I searched but cant find anyone having the same problem. If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated. I have the IMTT coming up this weekend and would like to get the problem solved. Thanks a ton. Have a good one.

LAZER! Sorry for your troubles, man. When my troller went out I found a breaker attached to the battery that tripped and got stuck. That does not sound like your problem though. I'd go thru whatever you took apart that got it running again, there has to be something loose there. At last resort, trail a drift sock (ShadyTails work great for this!). have a great fall muskie season, m

Eric, I had the same thing happen with my powerdrive 2 years ago, and it was an electronic board inside that needed to be replaced. My repair shop had the part in stock, so I think it is a fairly common part to go bad. Hopefully you are still under warranty.

I had the same thing happen to my maxxum. It would only run wide open. I was told by two people that there is a computer board in them that goes out. Hope it is on warranty because the board cost about $250 just for the part. I was lucky being it was less then a year old.

Hope it turns out ok.
