Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Sue and I hit the water at about 3 PM in a south gale like wind and left the water just before dark. We had two muskies hit, stuck one, and lost it at the boat. Not a huge fish, but still alittle disappointing anyway. I just couldn't get steel in fish yesterday, losing 5 fish and missing another 5. Most were nice pike. I did get one bass that was a bit stunned after I hit it with everything I had...
How'd the weekend go for you? |

Location: Madtown, WI | MUSKIES SUCK! Hit fri night and Sunday night...one little one is all I have to show!
Lisa and I hit the Mississippi for the duck opener! Other then sweating my B@lls off in the 80 degree heat wading through the muck we had a good hunt! Not as good as years past but plenty of shooting. Lisa redeemed herself from last years misses. She shot 4 of the six ducks we ended up getting. She did send one sailing across the marsh that I had to go and try and find...man am I out of shape!!

Location: Des Moines IA | Hit Okauchee Sat, and Sun this weekend. Sat, Drew got a 30 incher on a suick, I raised one a litlle bigger on a Perka. Sun I missed one on a suick, Jeremy raised one on the magic bulldawg right before we had to leave. Didn't have a temp gauge, but the sucker made it all day! Must be around 60 I guess. |

Location: Downers Grove, IL | I was lucky enough to see my girlfriend catch her first muskie on her birthday weekend. Boy was I pumped up. Probably more excited then she was. This baby hit a sucker and after a tag-team hookset the fight was on!!!! She did a great job and after a couple of nice runs this fat 40 incher slide into the beckman!! Way to go KIM! I guess it was worth getting up at 5:30am on a Saturday. We'll have to use our vacation days in Canada next summer.

| Fished Shelbyville on Saturday. Water temps were in the low 70s. Nothing. The folks fishing the "Fall Classic" did pretty well that day with something like 22 fish under less than ideal conditions. Sunday we hit Lake Evergreen. Water temps were in the upper 60s. Caught a 31.5", had another follow about two casts later, and lost a 40"+. All in about 30 mins. It was pretty sweet because I was able to show a newbie muskie guy how to stick it to 'em. He was stoked. I think I converted him (he usually fishes for the "green carp" a.k.a. bass). |

Location: Clintonville, WI | Was up to visit GregM for business reasons this past weekend. Lo and behold we found 15 hours of fishing time. My first crack at MN water, albeit a limited time frame, was interesting. Only two unproductive hours on Fiday night due to my late arrival.
Saturday was a different story. Windy, warm (shorts and t-shirts), partly cloudy, 60 deg. water. Didn't start fishing until 10 a.m. because of the Hewitt Sisters the night before. One hour in, a four footer came in low and behind my large Pacemaker. Sped up into the eight and she came up faster but became non-committal at the boat. Greg stopped the boat, I snapped on a "You Know What" and tossed back at her. Fourth swoosh, loooong pause, went to the fifth swoosh and there she is in all her pristine, spotted, girthy, glory, entirely out of the water..........on a WHIIIFFFF. D'OH!!!!!! I zigged and she thought it would be in the same spot. I kept the Weagle coming and then a few more casts back but she left me heart broken.
Greg moved a mid 40 fish about an hour later, right on his spinner bait. Could have sworn she was going to eat, but no dice. Went back after my fish at the 1:30 moon phase and she did not show herself. Last fish we moved was a low 40s Greg had on the spinner bait again, a late comer that was aggressive but Greg saw her too late and she spooked when he went to an awkward eight. No fish showed up on Sunday - VERY WINDY.
Different water than WI water for sure, as far as structure goes. At least the lakes we fished were
As a side note.....get up there to see Greg. He did a he!! of a job with the saloon with hopefully more to come. Hewitt Sisters played almost a full set on Fiday and all night on Saturday (boy are they are easy on the eyes). Place was packed. Good water all around too.

| Hit the Minoqua area and with the algea blooms dying, fishing was tough. Also, bluebird skies didnt help either. I picked up my UL (with 10# braid, no leader) equipped with a X-Rap to see if I could get me a Smallie. My partner mentioned something about me being weak, but I told him that if I put this little jerkbait in front of a 'Ski, she would bite. Whatever he said. Several casts later I get a nice hit and when it comes to the boat-suprise! It's a nice Tiger! After a short tussle we boat a beautiful 35" Tiger.....a rush on UL tackle! It never hurts to downsize. |

Location: oswego, il | I learned that I suck at fishing resiviours. Almost 2 full days and 2 bass to show for it and not one musky seen. On our way home, I run into a buddy of mine at the gas station as I am LEAVING to go home. He talks us into going out for a couple hours. His 2nd cast gets him a 35 in the net. 20 minutes later I have a 40 going round and round on a figure eight. We hit this other spot 30- minutes later and he tells me about this spot he is about to cast and as he is talking, boom, nice fish on. I set my rod down and get the net. Fish takes him all the way around the boat to the other side where I layed my rod, which at the time was out of the way. I scoop the fish in the net and then my buddy goes, GET YOUR ROD! I look down to see my calcutta sinking, I reach down to grab it letting the front of the hoop into the water. Well the fish unhooked itself and turned itself around and swam out! GRRR! Mid 40's fish too. I say the fish counts even with no pic. I did get my pole back but bummed about the fish. |

| Yeah, briefly stopped to talk to you in Walt's Cove. We were in a black/tan Crestliner "Muskie Edition". We fished till dark and didn't see anything other than a few fish chasing baitfish and porpoising in Buoy. |
