| Hey All, Im an aspiring musky fishermen and im hoping some of u out there have a few tips for me. The problem is that i do not have a boat yet and im just able to fish from shore. I live in north western pa on pymatuning lake. Any types or ideas will be greatly appretiated. Thank you, Brian  |

Location: Northwoods | Looks like you are being ignored, but possibly everyone is out trying to have one more day on the water!?!
If you are stuck on land make the best of it by using topwaters or spinner baits. The reason being you don't want to lose your lure to underwater debris that you cannot see. Topwaters have a very high success rate for alot of us anglers. Personally I throw them because my wrists and hands are not strong enough to manuever the rod and reel to make some of the diving lures (Suick or even a jerkbait) perform for proper presentation. Since you are casting offshore, these diving baits may cause you more frustration getting hung up on underwater logs or rocks or dense weeds, unable to retrieve them and possibly losing them.
Don't forget to relax and have fun cause hooking a musky may not happen before 1,000 plus casts, BUT while your trying you may snag some other really great fish! Steve landed a 30-1/4" Walleye casting for musky with a topwater bait. Good Luck Brian!!  |

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | Hey Dude- Try the local muskie club, most folks are pretty cool about sharing a spot in their boat. The other major option is river muskies, especially the river area's right below the dam's.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | There's a fair number of anglers from that area here, just trying to get them to post is an issue sometimes. List your email, and let them know you'd share a boat seat if they have one open. Lots of that here, and usually it works pretty well. As sugggested, get hooked up with local Muskie clubs, too. |

Location: Pittsburgh, PA | I know the lake pretty well, but fishing from shore limits the options. I would work the weed beds around Snodgrass. I have hooked a couple fish within casting distance of shore. Try working the shoreline from the launch North to the point where the boat docks start. Fast, aggressive baits would probably be best.
