Check out Maui Jim's and Costa Del Mar, I have both and they are great

You can google them and you will find plenty of options.

I have the Costa Del Mar Fathom series, and I like them a lot. BUT: In very dark, cloudy conditions I can't see %^$&. I also find that my friends sometimes will point out a piece of structure and I seriously can't see it...

I don't know if another brand or a different color lens would help or not as far as that goes, but a LOT of people love the Ocean Waves Big Kahunas in backwater green.

If I lost my costa del Mars, I might try the Ocean Waves, but I don't know for sure if they're any better.

Most important is buy something you can stand to have on your head for 8 hours. If they hurt they suck.

I've got Costa Del Mars (Euro model I believe) with vermillion colored lenses. I love 'em...I see things in the water that others don't...come to think of it, I also hear things others don't....hmmmm.....

The lense color is supposed to be for sight fishing....they work best in typical daylight either sunny or overcast. Only at last light does it become difficult to see but in the dark water I fish that would be the same challenge for any pair of sunglasses.

Oh and the few people I do know that have H3Os do like them. I don't have any direct experience so can't comment.

I wear prescription glasses, so I make sure and get the scratch resistant polarized clip-ons.
I get the amber ones, because they seem to work best as an all-around color.

So I researched this like crazy a while back, and the consensus was for lake fishing...amber lenses with green mirror. I know myself, and how well I loose and scratch sunglasses so I went on a hunt for a quality, reasonable pair of polarized shades in that mold that wouldn't break the bank.

I found the Flying Fisherman Rio II's. Wrap around style, spring hinges, 8 base plastic lenses, polarized, amber lens and green mirrior. Couldn't be happier and I've found them online for as cheap as $13.99(usually around $20)

Don't know if you're in the market for high priced shades or not, but just thought I'd share the option I found, since I don't trust myself with a pair of $200 shades. I can buy 13 unscratched pairs for that.

Go with Costa del mar, amber for most situations, sunrise yellow for low light... Green mirrored are amber based.
Or go with Ocean Waves, they call their Mirrored green Backwater Green, like costa these are amber based. For Low light with ocean waves go with the Crown Royal Luminators(purple mirror, yellow base). Whatever you do, do not go cheap

Jo, I have the St. Croix frames and really like them. I removed the goofy leather side caps since they wrap around nicely anyway and it reduced fogging under humid KY conditions. A buddy of mine has the same lens in the Chicago frame and really likes his. I've swapped out experimenting what I can see on the water and am happy with the OW under a variety of conditions, even into low light. I don't want to swap lenses during the day, just one more thing to do. I have some cheap clear safety glasses for driving the boat back after dark.

I've got the Native DashSS sunglasses with the bronze colored lenses. I love them. Best part is that they've got a lifetime warranty on them. If you scratch your lenses or break your frame, you pay a one time $20 fee and they'll replace them for life. I thought it was a pretty dang good deal for $115. They come with four pairs of lenses too (only one is polarized though) and you can order different colors of polarized lenses as well.

i have the h30s with the rx insert and i love them, they are the most versitle polarized glasses out there, the interchangable lenses work great. i cant beleive what a difference these made as far as seeing in the water verses the old clip ons i used to use. they are one of the best fishing investments ive made in a loooong time!!!

I use two pairs of Costa Del Mars. Greytint/blue mirror for 90% of my fishing and ambertint/green mirrow for low light. If you get Costas, or any other classes, make sure you get GLASS lenses, not the plastic or polycarbonite. I have yet to scratch my Costas in 5 years of fishing and wiping them off with my shirt. I had a pair of Oakleys that didn't even last one year before they were scratched beyond use.

I bought the h30's this year and like them alot. They are very versatile with the the 3 lenses and it is hard to beat the price.
Had a pair break on me and they replaced them with no problems. No complaints.

I have both h3o's and ocean waves .

I would recommend the Ocean Waves over the h3o's however the h3o's are awesome for the money you will pay more for the ocean waves. (chicago frames)
