Location: Toronto, ON | My friend just received his new eBay-purchased Induron 400--he likes the reel but the 'manual' leaves much to be desired. His (our) question: How do you adjust the brake weights on the Induron? Pull them off completely to 'disengage' a brake? Push them out or in?
Thanks in advance!

| out offers more resistance
leaving them in offers less resistance
mine are 3 out 3 in, alternating.
hope this helps. |

Location: Toronto, ON | Thanks, Yeti. I figured out the 'on' position for the Induron about 30 minutes after posting but I'm glad to hear your about your configuration. Funny thing is that 3 on, 3 off is what I almost always set on my reels--BPS Maina & Calcuttas. Just seems to be the best overall balance.
Thanks again,

| I don't have the Induron, but I have the Nytrix which is also made by Okuma. Are the weights little plastic buttons on the Induron? I just removed all but two of the weights in my Nytrix. It casts much better. I found that the weights would move after a few casts and just worked the tension control so I can take the weights completely out.
Of course for balancing purposes you will want them on the opposite side of the spool. |
