Just thinking about the Fall patterns comming up. I thought I would share my Pre-Fall pattern with some of you.

I like to run a crank bait down the breaklines and weedlines to get my muskies. Weather will determine if I should be deep or shallow. But, this pattern will always seem to produce as the water cools. I hope this will help some one score a fish or two. This can be done trolling or casting.

What is your Pre-Fall pattern that could help others?

Dare to share..................

I like to work steeper breaks and throw gliders on the top of the break and bring it out to the edges and use more pauses, just daring them to eat it.

In the period before turnover, I toss spinnerbaits in the slop and work topwaters in the nasty stuff concentrating on dark water puddles here in Oneida County. If the day requires, this is one of the primo times of year to Creature up a muskie. Weagles, Top Raider, Topper Stopper, and the Violent Strike Willow Mag top the list this year. Slamr got a very nice fish today in 3' and slop, I lost one just a bit smaller, moved a piggy, and saw 1 other, all in the shallow slop. Water temps were 71.2.

I love working spinnerbaits shallow as well as on/along the weed edge. Some edges are deeper and require a heavier spinnerbait.I've really gotten into single spins the last few years, typically with a big willow or a #7 fluted.Nothing fancy, just slow rolling the bait within close proximity to the bottom or above the prevailing cover.Bucktails are fished the same way, but models are chosen based on weight and vibration because I want to work them sloooooow. We did really well last week with the Musky Mayhem Medium Double Cowgirl.Lots of vibration and movement with very little speed.I even clipped on a few dipsey sinkers to work some steeper/deeper areas.Nice. Shallow bays in areas that seem void of fish during the peak of summer. Inside weed edges get good, as do weedless sand flats that are windy. Topwater is my first choice(as it is always). I like Topraiders, Rylure Tapdancer(the best tail rotator going right now), Rylure Globes, and Husky Hawg Wobblers. Spinnerbaits and inlines like Triple Takes in the really nasty stuff, but like the topwater all day now wherever applicable. If we can't find them there from now through turnover, then we move deeper towards the edge.
