OK do you ever think that there is a hot bait that just doesn't work for u? I have thrown a bulldawg ever time out muskie fishing this year with not so much as a follow! I've jigged it, burned it, stop n go, weeds, rocks, deep, clear to muddy. Yet still nothing. Anyone have any suggestions or mods to the bait that may help me would make my bulldawgs happy lures again.

THANKS
BALDY

as long as that Dawg is in the water it is working. Keep fishing it. it will produce.

most of the time, i either fish them in a sweep/reel fashion or just reel them straight in.

i can honestly say I have never had a follow on a dawg, but have had fish eat them on quite a few occasions

I like using a pump retreive at a fast pace lifting and pulling the rod .just stay ready because they will hit the bait hard . maybe 1 to 2 foot pulls .try break lines in the fall and around suspended fish around now . good luckand happy hunting

I have found ripping them upward and to the side (almost like setting the hook) has been an excellent method for getting fish to hit. Reel in the slack, keeping the line taught as you go. That way you are always in contact with the bulldawg and any hits that come will not have any slack line to work with.

In my humble experiences with these baits, a longer rod is a must as well. I have gone to my 7 foot rod with these and have really liked the combo. And when some of the fish hit, they just clobber it. Others will hit it, and all you feel is weight on the rip upward...if so, you just end up ripping up harder to get the hookset. My left side usually gets bruised a few times through the summer from some of the hits I have gotten.

Best time I have found is that if nothing else is working, go to the bulldawg. Your time will come, and then you won't want to put it down.
