i am looking to make a few crank baits and top water. i found some nice wood blanks
and have some questions for the hardware. for these lures should i use screw eyes and lure hangers
or thru wire? if thru wire is the best how does it work? can i use thru wire with the wood plugs?
any info would help thanks.

Mauser and I were working with some blanks, we drilled a hole in the wood, rolled the threads of the screw eye in some marine epoxy and screwed it in. Should hold forever. m

We drilled the hole then put some epoxy in the hole with the end of a paper clip. Figured if you coated the screw eyes , the wood would gather up all the epoxy around the threads as they screwd into the wood , and wouldn't make it all the way into the hole. Either way should be fairly permanent.
