Alright, I found and ordered my new Temp. and Oxygen gauge! Thanks guys for all the help.

Now my new search.... a good, high quality, won't fall apart or break in the boat, easy to read and use barometer.

Can you help me on this one guys!

Greatly appreciated!

Here's the one I'm going to get next order:

Can't vouch for it yet.

You could try one of those Casio fishing watches too.

I have an Oregon Scientific digital barometer that I love.

What temp gauge did you go with?

Are the digital ones more reliable?
Seems the spring/needle gets out of wack too easily.

I would prefer a digital, as Lobi said, the other ones the needle gets out of wack to easily.

Also, I have seen those watches, have tried them. They really don't work all the time.

Steve, if you go to the Cabelas website, type in catalog #, CRS-01-0231

I used it along with Jed's $2500 reader today, and it was dead on with his. Go to my message board to find out more about water temp levels on Indiana waters!

Isn't the "TREND" more important than the actual reading on the meter? If two are not reading the same they better at least both be falling or whatever.

What do you need a broameter for? A falling/rising barometer is REALLY obvious, most times, even slight variations. Is there a particular application you're looking for?

steve,

I want to start writing down the pressure when I or somebody in my boat catches certain fish.

Just something for the records.

Barograph. Should be available as archived records, too.

go here:

http://weather.noaa.gov/index.html

select your state, then you can use the dropdown menu to pick the nearest city, gives you the last 24 hours weather observations....times are usually in Eastern Time zone though, so subtract 1 hr for central....you can use it after you get off the water to figure out barometer, wind etc.

Here is a website I use to record the barometer for every fish in my boat.

http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=M...

Just put in your city and click on the: Detailed History and Climate (KMSN)
It has bar graphs for barometer, wind, ect.
There is no need to buy a barometer, just note the time that you catch the fish.

Hey Mike,

I just got a Humminbird Matrix 97 unit. This thing has a Weather Sense unit that records and monitors the Barometric Pressure. "REAL TIME" This is really cool Mike.

hey mike i use a anglers edge made by speedtech(looks like the oregon one). its tells you the borometer and times and the time and best biting times for the fish. also shows the moonfases and so forth. and also most electronic borometers you have to program them to the elevation that you are using it at. . then they usually are precise. mine is dead on with the local tv and computer sites....bill

their website is www.speedtech.com
