I'm going to be upgrading my fish/depth finder electronics. I've been looking around and researching on my end...but there's so much out there...it makes my brain hurt.

Ideally...I'm looking within the Lowrance brand lineup.

If you guys don't mind, fill me in on some pros/cons, favorites, etc, etc.

I'm looking for two set-ups. One for a larger sized one for driver's seat and a smaller one for up front with the trolling motor.

I do not need color screens. B/W is fine with me.

Looking for one with temp sensor, speed sensor and ideally, the larger one, having GPS capability.

I really can not decide if I need one with Navionics chip capability. Haven't decided. Something tells me I should ...but I'm not 100% sure on that one. If there's a lower end model that takes those...maybe I'll concider it.

Trying to stay smart with the expense. However...I know this is an area of equipment that shouldn't be skimped on. Anything will be better than what I have now though.

I don't need the best of the best and I don't need the very high end stuff....since I don't want to break the bank spending on this stuff...but I want something adaquet that'll do the job and last. Is there a middle of road pricing on these? What models should I concentrate on?

Heck...if anyone out there is thinking of upgrading their electronics as well...I may be interested in buying used stuff maybe. Something to talk about.

Thanks guys 'n gals.

I would go with X-125's.

They are very nice depth finders. The detail and clearity of what you are seeing is awesome. Cheap, but high quality.

Cool. Thanks for the quick reply Mike.

Would you recommend the X-125 for both setups (for up front and at driver's seat)?

If that's the model you want and you have the ability to matching ones do it.
That way if there's ever a problem with one while your on a trip/outing it's a matter of unscrewing a couple cables and moving the locator to the other position to get you back up and fishing again.
Might be a bit of a pain in the butt, but could save a trip.
