I will be in camp that same week. I have never fished the big V before either. What I have heard is you find rock reefs or rock points with weeds and throw topwater. I am staying at the Hillside cabin, stop in maybe we could get out together. BG

The fish are becoming a little difficult due to all the pressure right now. Was on the West side on sunday and there were 2 boats on every rock pile and point and boats all over the weeds. The fish are still going though, but patterns keep changing. Best bet is to get the most current info when you get there and talk to Marty and Ed at VDL. Hiring Marty for an evening wouldn't be a bad idea either--or just feed him a bunch of his favorite beer--Miller High Life

that's funny...last year when i went there was no one on any of the spots. (stayed at a buddy's cabin in the same bay as VDL.)
of course, there weren't any hazard buoys out at that point either and the waves never got less than 3'.
gotta love October!

have a great trip next week guys! i'm jealous.

OCT thru Nov is the time,,no tourists,,and you lose alot of the guys to hunting,,you learn alot when the ciscoe netting season starts then has to where they spawn potential spots

I will have a green 1750 fishhawk with a 75 merc. Unless, my lower unit is still at the shop. I tried to carve up some of the shield while fishing the goon last month. The dealer has assured me that it will be ready by next Friday. I will be with my family and will have an open spot in my boat during the week. I am seriously thinking about night fishing or very early am. If anyone is interested let me know. BG

Guys, I promise you, there is plenty of water to fish without nudging your way in between the walleye anglers. I never had (nor have) any problem finding water that raises fish when I'm up there the last week in July. Then again, I'm used to fishing Indiana water. What a circus sometimes.
You guys have a safe and productive trip. Wave at Muskego Point when you motor by. My heart is still there.....
