You can take it to the car wash, put it on Rinse, not soapy rinse, just plain 'ol water, spray it out really well, then take your wet-dry vac and suck all the crap out.

Works well, then park you boat in the sun for about 2 hours and she will be clean and dry.

Try some oxyclean with a pressure washer. I never tried it but heard that it works wonders.

You need to be careful not to hold the nozzle of the pressure washer too close to the carpets. It could result in delamination of the carpet or separation from the glue and the deck. Some of those pressure washers can peel paint.

I've always used a little dish soap and a soft brush then rinse well, works real well then I air dry it in the sun.

This past spring I picked up a Bissel Little Green ProHeat Wet Vac to use for cleaning my boat's carpeting. (I told my wife it was for our vehicles and upholstery.) This product works very well for me and makes the carpeting look great! I've gotten lots of compliments and even questions if I recently replaced my Esox Mag's carpeting. Not only does a wet vac do a great job of lifting dirt and grime from the carpeting that a dry vac could never do, but I've also removed coffee, rust and other stains too. This could be a good Christmas gift for a wife that JUST HAPPENS TO WORK well in your boat too. hehe

I tried our Hoover Steamvac last week with the furniture hose attachment and that seemed to work real well too. I think the smaller units like the Bissell that you mentioned would work even better. Occasionally I have spilled oil when filling the resivoir in the back of my Tuffy and have sprayed the area with an orange based degreaser, let it sit for a half hour and then hose it off. You could probably spray the whole carpet let it sit and gently scrub and hose it out and the carpet should be really clean. Keep the suggestions coming as some of us are nearly paranoid about our interiors!!

I have always used my pressure washer with very good success. Use a head that doesn't have a tight spray pattern or you can damage decals and delaminate carpet.

resolve on a rag does justice to my boat carpeting.
