Anyone been out on Waconia in Western Metro Minnesota lately? Or has the heat and skiers kept everyone off? Weeds or water clarity would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

The water is dark and if it is a nice day there will be boats and jet skis everywhere!!!! Get there by 4:30 a.m and be ready to get off the water early on the weekends. Weekdays I am sure will be a little better. I was out there at 5:00 a.m this weekend and there were already a dozen other muskie guys out there chucking baits on the better spots. I know that some fish have been caught, but that lake, like ALL the metro lakes (Tonka, Independence, etc...) is getting POUNDED. I would recommend fishing during the week to avoid some of the pressure.

Lake Independence has been hot from what I have heard. You might want to give it a try. Good Luck.

Thanks for the info. I went out Tue. night and battled the wind. The only good thing is that there were no skiers and only about 6 boats out. Never saw a single fish. Dont know if you could see a follow anyway the water is pretty dark. Managed 1 mid thirty's fish in 18 feet of water on a depth raider - go figure. No other blow ups or swirls.
