Location: Crystal Lake, IL | Anybody been out on Silver lately? I'm thinking about heading there this Saturday am. Haven't been there yet this year and was wondering what they (muskies) were chasing.

Location: oswego, il | I have not fished silver in awhile. I don't care for the lake in the summer as it greens up when it gets to be batch water. I am sure she's wsell over 80 now, I would bass fish the weedlines if I went. Some nice bass in there. |

Location: Racine, Wi | If ya get out there, fish deeeeep. Those fish like to suspend out there off the breaks and over the open water. There are fish out there. I am like Todd though, I won't fish it till late summer, early fall, through the remainder of the fall.
Good luck though. |

Location: Crystal Lake, IL | Me and two buddies went to Silver Lake last Saturday and fished from 5:00am to 9:00am. It was so hot. We threw all of our productive baits for that lake and the only fish we caught was a nice 18" Bass. We saw no Muskies. I'm putting that lake on the back burner until the fall. Thanks again for all you info.

| Was out this morning for a couple hours. Water temps still holding at 80 degrees, weather was clear blue sky with no wind. Fished for main lake basin with depth range of 20 to 35 feet working Depth Raiders and Bull Dawgs. We also worked Magic Tails right under the surface because baitfish were present everywhere, but no takers. The lake is going to need a good month with hopefully some cooler nights to get things going. I will not start my fall guiding until probably mid September.

Location: Racine, Wi | I was out there on Sat for a couple of hours in the evening, and saw the same thing Doug. Lots of bait, no interested takers. I went shallow for the he!! of it, and raised a small fish on a TR. Need that H2O to coooool down. Bring on the fall bite. |

Location: Crystal Lake, IL | With the nicer weather (cooler temps & rain finally) later last week and over the weekend I was wondering if anyone was moving any fish on Silver recently. I will probably not get out there for a couple of weeks but was just curious as I truly enjoy fishing that lake.

Location: Racine, Wi | I was out there Sat for a few hours in the evening. Still lots of bait stacked just off the weedlines. I raised one small fish on a Weagle, missed a very small fish on a bucktail, and had one blow up on a TR. Starting to get a bit more action. I think in the coming weeks, it should start to pick up. |

Location: Racine, Wi | You bet Mike. I will probably be out there either Friday night, or Sat afternoon this weekend. Maybe during the week next week as well. They should start going soon. It's starting to look a bit better.
Water temps were still a bit high (79 in the evening), so with the nights in the 50's it should come down quickly.

Just curious....do you do any good at dusk? The majority of my fish have always been caught in the morning. I like the break the fish get from 7PM to 10am of no wake. I've seen fish at dusk on Silver but never caught one. Like I said...just curious.

Location: Racine, Wi | I've done better during the mornings, like you said, but have done pretty good in the evenings, and into the night. I tend to move pretty quick in the evenings getting into this time of the year, and burn some hair in.
This year though, I have been seeing quite a few fish in the evenings on topwater, so I am going to pursue this a bit more. Earlier in the year (June), we did quite well in the afternoons, and evening with topwater and suicks in the slop.
I do have to admit though, I usually have to fish in the evenings this time of year, soooooo, take that for what it's worth. In the fall, I fish Silver alot more than this time, and get out there alot earlier. The pressure seems to drop as it gets cooler, and there are times where there might be only 2 or 3 other boats. I can't wait for that. |

I'm trying to get out this weekend with MuskyMan (Drew) and Bulldawg (Keith) as drew mentioned above. If we do get out it will probably be in the morning. If I don't see you let me know how you do. I'll also update this thread to let you know how we did if we get out.

Sorry I didn't get back to you in time. I was able to get out Sunday morning on Silver from 5:30 to 10 with Drew and Keith. We didn't see a thing. Again we used all the productive, proven baits for that body of water but to no avail. I still think she needs to cool down as water temps were still in the upper 70's. Hopefully the up and coming cooler nights will get them moving. Did you get out Saturday am?

Location: Racine, Wi | I was out Friday night. I thought they were going to go, but nada. Bait was where it should have been, but no go. Hit Pewaukee instead on Sat, and got a 37 and lost another due to planer board operator error.

Location: Crystal Lake, IL | I'm leaving that lake alone for awhile. I can't ever tell you that I've ever fished it twice in a few weeks in the summer and not raised a fish....weird. Just too warm. I'll let you know when I'll be out there next and please keep me up to date re: any action.
