Has anyone ever had success doing this? Dawgs are my favorite. I'm taking my bro-in law and my neice out saturday morning, and I am wondering if this may increase the odds of them getting their first ski.

Nightmare;
Wasn't the last Indiana state record caught on a trolled Dawg. I believe he was using a Dipsy also. Musky Hunter may have had a short story about it in '04.

I've caught a couple trolling dawgs, 39 and 43". It seems like a slow pace 2-2.5 MPH is best. However, both of the fish were taken as I gave a burst of speed and the bait rose or shot to one side or the other. I'd rather use other traditional cranks and go 3.5-4.5 MPH and cover twice as much water.

I have trolled dawgs for about 2 years now.

I had a client get a nice 42 on it the other day.

I like to pump them, but you can simply put them in the rod holder and go over the tops of cabage, or just off the edge.

When I pump them, I am usually over open water, going about 3-3.5 mph, long pulls, give it slack, long pull.......

Yes Dennis,
The Indiana record is still holding and was caught by Darrin Conley in 2002. He was using a Mag Dawg off a Dipsey. Purely by chance, my bro-in-law and I rescued him on dark night in Oct when his outboard konked out and he ran his trolling motor battery dead while trying to get back to his trailer. He was embarresed but we all had a good laugh with him when I recognized him right away from his "Musky Innovations" ad in "Musky Hunter Magazine."
