Hi, I'm heading up to the NW angle on LOTW on Wed. Anyone know the water levels? Last time I was there was 2 years ago when it was 3 ft shallower than normal. It would help if anyone knows. Thanks in advance.

It should look like a whole new lake, the water is 2+ feet above normal, so much more water to fish now.

Good luck

Just got back Saturday night from Youngs Bay Resort. Water levels are 2'-3' up from normal is what I was told. Very easy to get around. Watch out for various logs and branches floating around. Some really great currents along the islands and neck-down areas up in Big Narrows. Look for fish on rocks, but DO NOT overlook weeds. Try to find yourself the red broad leaf and great cabbage areas. Tried to fish a few areas that had good cabbage in the past, but this year were completely choked off by weeds.

As far as baits go, we moved a few fish on top water, but spinners were by far the best. A silver-black/white KDC marabou spinner took a fish for me. The hot bait was a white pearl blade-black/white tail Mepps Musky Marabou. Nothing on small bladed spinners; everything on colorado blades for us.

It was over 90 degrees every day up there. Take a lot of water along in the boat with you. Water temps were running anywhere from 76 degrees to 81 degrees, depending on where you were at. A lot of short hitting fish, then others that were just completely eating the baits.

Have fun up there, I know that we did.

Good Fishing,

Chuck
