How about something to ponder...

Does your 'confidence' lure catch more ski because you have confidence in it.....or does it catch more ski because it's in the water more?

I won't throw it if I don't think that it will catch fish.
I've been known to sacrafice lures every once in a while.
Make a couple of casts, looks like crap, take off the hooks and in the fireplace it goes.
You should have confidence in your lures and throw them because of it, and you should have many of them.

I've been focusing on trying to use the correct bait for the cover that I think the fish are holding in. After that you need to let the fish tell you what bait they want.
