Location: Elkhart, IN | The lake was really stirred up this weekend, I've never seen water clarity so bad. The only follow on a bucktail I could conjure up was on a bucktail blade that orange, yellow and black. Is this a good choice as I didn't get any action at all on nickel blades? What color blade do you prefer for very low water clarity? |

| Our lakes have been really stirred up this year and I've found several fish using a pink blade in front of Pink/Lt. blue/Orange hair.

| In stained water or during algae blooms I will always reach for a flo. orange blade to start with.

Location: Antioch, IL | I also fish in soup most of the time and I have definately had better luck with bright colored, painted blades. I think in addition to blade color, contrasting colors of hair/marabou seem to help . A lot of colors that look good in the boat can look almost invisible in stained water. I've thrown a solid chartruese bucktail all day with no action then switched to char/orange/yellow and fish started moving. I've started making my own bucktails in some pretty off the wall color combos. Don't no if any will work better than the rest but what else to I have to do. |

Location: God's Country......USA..... Western Wisconsin | Try the "Flame" blade great color for dirty or stained water. If you are really in the dirty stuff try about a #8 or even a #9 Colorado blade in Flame or Firetiger. Flashy colors and lots of thump. Don't be afraid to rip that big blade up to the top and "gurgle" it once in while on the retrieve. You may be pleasently surprised how much attention that bucktail can get if you break the water with it from time to time. Remember that a big round blade gives lots of lift so use a slightly heavier bucktail or add a little weight to the one you want to use. |
