Location: Iowa | There is a Super 8 on the right hand side of the highway as you come in from the south that we have stayed at everytime we go up that way...great place with really cheap rates...go to super8.com and you'll find it...real close to the border too...

| We've got a guy that stays at the Voyageur Inn every year and hasn't had any complaints about them....it's a couple blocks off of 71 as you're going through town. Couple of fast food restaurants within walking distance as well. |

| If you are going into Canada I would recomend getting across the border and staying in Ft. Francis. This way if there is any hassle or long lines to get across the border it is all done the night before and not the day of. I'm sure you want to get to the place you are fishing ASAP on that day and waiting in line for a couple hours while you are chomping at the bit to get fishing is no way to start the day. Also there is ussually A LOT less congestion at the border if you cross later at night. Last year we crossed at about 11:00 OM and then checked into a hotel in Ft. Francis (make sure you have reservations) and we were across the border in less than 5 minutes. |

| We always stay at the falls motel. Sort of a tradition. Costs about 55$ and is clean and quiet enough. We get up early and there is no wait at the border at 7am on a prime saturday. If you wait untill 11am or later there can be a 2 hour wait. there are many motels on both sides including a super 8 and a holiday inn and many other mom and pop places. Just cross early and beat the rush. Enjoy your trip Eric MacDonald |
