Subject: How do you add weight to a Squirko?

Just was wondering if anyone has added weight to a Squirko. I have a couple new ones that just do not work like they should and tend to stay on top of the water. I have some older ones that work great that stay deep. Is there any way to add weight to a Squirko?
Thanks

Sounds like a kick-but topwater to me. I have a "rip-n-glide" proto, that swims awesome just on the surface, and sometimes just under. I have not raised a fish yet, but it is just a matter of time.

I'd find the balance point of the lure, drill a 1/2" hole, add 2 ton epoxy and a 1/2 ounce barrel sinker letting the epoxy level off at the top. Let it set for a day and go throw it. That should help.
Either that or you can run screw eyes through barrel sinkers...1/2 and 3/4 are good starters...drill a pilot hole dead nuts at the balance point and screw each one in and see which one gives you the best sink rate before you add the weight to the lure.

The Squirkos atre solid plastic so you can drill and ad weight. Use epoxy like Beav said.
I use a weight system in mine. or you can drill behind the front hook hanger and add weight there.

If you cant get them to work or dont feel like messing around addind weight give me a email.

Totally agree with Keith's "X". I have a very battered squirko which did exactly what you're describing and I drilled a hole where the X is and put probably at least 1/2oz of rolled up roofing lead in the hole. Works like a charm now, and the fish agree!

I got the same problem. Mine has no glide. You've all heard of dive and rise. My bait is the opposite. On the twitch, it rises and then dives. No action on it yet but I just got it. It also comes in right under the surface. It will be a cool strike when I get one.

my new squirko has the BEST kick azz finish. but it glides like a manta on the downtwitch....
then i remembered gregg thomas telling me to lightly uptwitch whilst palming the reel for the flashy up-down move he's so good at. lol.
it worx, just takes some work.
