Location: Presque Isle Wisconsin | Having spent the month of June on my "Black Lagoons" ( smaller lakes with big fish)the time has come to move to Big water.Twenty four legal Muskies have hit the nets so far this season with the biggest a 47.5" last evening.That was an ok month on the lagoons but in Northern Vilas county the bigger lakes are ready to rock now and other than the large Flowages Ill be on the Gin bottles for the rest of the year.
Congrats to J. Sled and the others who have shown that Wisconsin still has some big girls swimming around.Green bay area and the Wisconsin river are really coming on now to be world class fisheries as well.Its only gonna get better.
Warm water due to recent very hot weather has moved the forage off shore and up in the water column on the big lakes so night fishing shallower is the safest on the skies right now rather than dragging them up from deeper water.
Had a huge as in HUGE fish follow up a weighted version of the H20 pyscho that Roger Waters put togther for me over 70' of water.A fish that would have made my season.Just the follow was a highlight.
The new Tuffy Esox mag is running great and has been duly slimed.Have a great season everyone. |
