Location: Stevens Point, WI		What do use to clean the bearings in Abu reels, the good old fashioned lighter fluid or is there something better?

Location: Wishin I Was Fishin'		I'd use clean mineral spirits, also called paint thinner.
Menard's has it for usually under $2 per gallon.

I keep my old stuff in a tupperware container, the dirt settles to the bottom after it sits a bit and I just pour the good stuff off the top.

More tips: use an old toothbrush, small kitchen screen strainer, Nitrile gloves(it'll take the oils out of your skin) and compressed air. Don't forget to put Super Smoothy Drag washers in all of your ABU reels.

Brakkleen is the best thing I have ever used for greasy parts whithout question Try Napa or any parts store leaves no residue

Gun scrubber works pretty well to, essentially the same as brake cleaner. makes it easy to blast the grime off and evaporates immediately.

Location: Stevens Point, WI		I believe the alcohol shouldn't be a problem since it evaporates. I can't believe I didn't think of brake cleaner, I use it for everything else. Thanks again everyone for all the good ideas.
