| I just picked up 2 Cobb topwater baits with the kicker tail. They also have a glass bead before the backhook. Are these the old Dick Gries Topkick baits ? Are they making dick gries topkicks again? What are these baits and do they make them anymore. I bought these at sticker price $15 and have no idea what I have. They came in a white cardboard package with Red COBB'S lettering. I know cobb makes good quality baits so I picked both up. I hope someone can help me with Dick Gries and these cobb surface baits questions. What do I have and are these baits new or old ? Thanks, Roy |

| I am going to assume this is in wrong package because the sides are ripped. Even though the Cobb package has a box that saids surface on it. Nice board, This is about the 8th question I asked here and have never got a response. I think I will go back to more friendly boards. They are just more helpful and friendly people. I can't believe 68 muskie fishermen(?) looked and could not help out on even Dick Gries manufacturer not to mention if Jack Cobb made a topwater ever. See ya- I know there are a few quality friendly muskie fishermen out there somewhere. Maybe you guys are friendlier on the lake.... ? |

Location: Yahara River Chain | What I know about Dick Gries is that he sold his company (guessing 10 yrs ago?) to a person in the Madison area and he didn't want to make them (I don't know why, health resons maybe?). When a thread was posted about the striker jerkbait, I call the guy asking if I should post his number. I got a very stern NO! And I don't think he may very many bait from the time he did aquire the company.
I too have never heard of a Cobb Topwater, maybe someone can help you out from WV? |

| Don't have any information on Cobb Topwaters, but in my searches for Striker baits (down to my last original) I did run across a smity bait that says its fashioned after the striker. I haven't tried one yet, just thought I'd pass this on. See www.smitybait.com/customs.shtml |
