at the site below is posted a short video showing (imho) a really great example of handling and releasing a 50" fish. i counted the time from lift, vertical cradled hold for picture, measurement, and back into the water at around only 13-14 seconds! they move the fish side-to-side for a bit and she takes off like a rocket. really great job...
i know i learned some things from watching it.
- from the start, cameraman is ready
- after the pictures, both guys work together to quickly measure the fish (they've done this before!)
- supports the fish the whole time
i've got some of the big tubes these guys make, and i'll testify that they are the best i've ever used. so look around while you're there as well.
