Does anybody use fluorocarbon leaders? Would they be recommended for cranking, topwater, and jerking? I lost a fish on a terminator titanium leader so I'm looking for change and heard good things about fluorocarbon leaders. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

I use #80 flouro leaders on anything I reel straight in. I know some people have had some issues, but I have not. You just have to throw them away when they get a nick, or when the loop starts to wear.

That is pretty much all I use. No problems for me so far. It all depends on where you are fishing and how many fish as to how long they last. Get a big spool and tie a mess up.

So would you recommend them for use on jerkbaits as well?

i use 100# flouro on just about everything. i inspect it quite frequently for nicks, i super glue all my knots or crimps and if they start getting nicked up i dont hesitate to switch them. 10 fish on my line this year so far with no problems. been using them the past 3 years without any failures. i make some with knots some i make with crimps, both hold up just fine.

I use 80# and 100# for leaders,Just started using them this year with success, first fish rolled on me and it held up,dido what everyone else says, check them for nicks and abuse, then change. The same holds true for any leader.I tie and super glue my ends some people krimp just matters on preferance.hope this helps.

Let me know if you need a picture and ill post one.

I am testing 80 pound for casting and 200 pound mono for casting, and 60 pound for jigging. I had one break so far, but that was a poor crimp. So far, they work great and produce more stikes.
