Has anyone ever tried to add weights to a giant jackpot..
if so what size and how far back from the front hook? Does the added weight help keep the lure from being blown out of the water.. does it push more water.

I've messed with them for years with little success in improving the hooking percentage. Do yourself a favor and get a Weagle or the new one from Musky Inovations and you problems will be solved.

While you are waiting on the Weagle get a Seducer. It won't get blown out easily. You will need both so when the Weagle gets ready you are set.

There's a bait no longer in production that I've been looking for called a Zapper. I dont know how widely it was sold or if it was just a local bait somewhere. It's the same style bait as a jackpot but the ass end hangs down at about a 30 degree angle. Ive tried to recreate the same by weighting other similar style baits with results marginal at best. I would love to buy or trade for one if anyone is looking to unload one.

I weighted a jackpot to try for an underwater walk the dog, put enough weight in front of front hook to slowly sink, tis a beautiful thing, no takers yet.

No reason to be on a waiting list for a Weagle. Get one here. http://www.muskytackleonline.com/acatalog/Topwater.html

Just noticed the date on this thread...now I understand the "waiting list" comment!
