Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | And you had 5 weeks of vacation, and you had to FISH, and your wife/family/girlfriends are pushing you to do this, where would you go? Remember, you have 5 weeks to fish, and you have all the money you would need to afford to fish anywhere....and I mean ANYWHERE. |

Location: minocqua, wi. | i'd live 1 week 5 times in a row like the movie groundhog's day with Bill Murray or like 50 first dates with Adam Sandler in Lake of the Woods and i'd do it in the boat with my buddies Kevin and Scott so i wouldn't have to find the spots or work the trolling motor at all. oh, and it would be the second week of July over and over and over and over and over again. |

Location: God's Country......USA..... Western Wisconsin | I'd head for the salt. Do some flats fishing and then go out on the flats to fish a little then go find a shallow flat in the keys somewhere. Maybe Christmas Island for some more wading on the flats. Warm weather, warm water, plenty of seafood and bikini clad ladies. Cold Beer as well I hope. Let me see...................7 course dinner tonight, a six pack and all the shrimp I could eat. Yes I would take along a friend or two if $$$ were no object.
If the question was for ski's only it would be the Ontario area maybe St lawrence etc. Might just visit Richard on the Ottawa. |

Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | There is no way I would spend all 5 weeks in one spot, so here is what I would do:
1. Eagle Lake
2. N.W. Angle
3. Vermillion
4. Hayward
5. Boulder Jct.
I would spend roughly 4-5 days in each locale. |

Location: Oregon | At least two weeks at Longview Washington near the mouth of the Columbia River. One day you could anchor or troll for chrome bright chinook (20-40 pounds) or coho (10-20 pounds) right out of the ocean and the next fish for sturgeon in the 6-10 foot range below Bonneville Dam.

| Ooops, didn't see the 5 week reference.
As much as I'd like to fish other waters like Eagle and Lac Seul, I already have 4 years of information on Sabaskong Bay and would rather not start over. Though, spending 5 consecutive weeks on an Eagle or Lac Seul I guess is equivalent to 5 annual week-long fishing trips. Having said that, give me five weeks on Eagle and I would be one happy man . |

Used to have a week or two in Ireland every year, in search of a giant Pike. Sadly thanks to gill netting in the name of 'improving' the trout fishing, the monsters are not there anymore |

Location: Sheboygan Falls, WI | Easy, I would see a few people on my trip.
1) 2 weeks in Australia fishing the Great Barrier Reef for BLACK MARLIN (THESE ARE THE 1,000lbers+, I already have a 9 1/2' 370lb Blue Marlin) on a 75' Berger Sport Fishing boat. That is a $10million rig. Build them in Manitowoc.
2) 1 week in Cabo
3) 1 week in Alaska Halibut fishing
4) 1 week back in Cabo
Yes, that is right, NO musky fishing. Figure I have enough of an opportunity to do that on quality waters already. I will put the fight of a 2,000lb Black Marlin up against your 50lb, heck make it 80lb, musky any day.
If one of these weeks do not work out, I would head up and king crab fish with the REAL men. Now that is fishing; gotta love the adventure and danger associated with it.
My wife and kids would go along for every trip except the king crab fishing trip. That one just perks up my wild side.

Location: Angola, IN | If I wasn't musky fishing:
I'd spend 5 weeks in Australia off the Great Barrier Reef fishing for Black Marlin. You spend your nights on a 100' motor yacht, fully serviced and pampered by a great crew....just on the inside of the reef. Then you take off in the morning in a serious fishing boat.....like a 31' Bertram or a 53' Hatteras.....trying to hook up with a 1000+ pound Marlin. There are 2000 pound fish hooked, but these fish are never caught. But I'd try!!! These trips cost about $15,000--$20,000 a week.
If I was musky fishing:
I'd split the 5 weeks with Marc Thorpe and Mike Lazarus......fishing specific areas that I could tell you about, but then I'd have to kill ya.
Either way, it would be a great time. Just as important, I'd have to my fishing partner with me....TomCat. Trip wouldn't be the same without him.
Peace!! |

1 week in July, 9-16, fishing the Northwest Angle of LOTW.
1 partial week in July, 27-31, fishing Minaki.
1 week in September, 17-24, fishing Crow Lake.
Fishing every possible chance this summer and fall on quality waters in northern Wisconsin. Oh that's right, we don't have any quality waters up here, do we.
That is how my summer is laid out for this year. Not bad little trips if I do say so myself.

Location: Forest Lake, Mn. | If money were not an object! Easy, all season on Lake of the Woods! Get a houseboat and explore the lake for the whole season. Move the houseboat from bay to bay. Start up at the Angle and points North, Hit Sabaskong before the bloom hits bad, and in the fall when the trout and whitefish are spawning I'd be on Whitefish looking for the muskie that thinks trout is a delicacy (sp?)
During the winter I'd head to Florida for some shark fishing on the shallow inshore flats, Then in the spring a little time chasing stripers. Not sure of the right time of year but I'd take a week or two and head out to Oregon and Washington for some White Sturgeon. Can you say 10+ feet long and maybe 500 pounds boys and girls? Sure I knew you could. |

Location: Eagle River, Alaska | This is tough.....I would consider fishing muskie waters within my economic structure now...so it it would be
1. Fishing big peacocks on the Rio Negro in Brazil
2. Fishing bonefish on Christmas Island.....and other big saltwater critters
3. Egypt fishing for nile perch
4. Tree River in Canada for trophy arctic char
5. Fishing Siberia for taimen and giant rainbow trout
I would have said fishing Clipperton Island off of Costa Rica for giant yellowfin tuna and wahoo but that is a 2-3 week trip all by itself.........would be fun.
The aspirations for halibut and salmon don't seem as exciting since I live in Alaska.
