Slow start but a few fish were caught on the dark water lakes near Rhinelander, one was 42 and a 34 to boot, saw many fish but few eaters. It will only get better as the weather is going to warm and get those lakes up to temp!!

Fished the Hayward area and got 2. A 30 and 34, lost about a 40 and saw one other. Fishing seemed pretty slow. Didn't see many fish at all.

I was putting in some family time up in Vilas. Here's some pics showing how my Sat went. Starting at 5am to 9pm. I will always refer to that day as bitter sweet.
Sucker bite.

Fishcrazed and I were on Tippy Saturday. I'm proud to announce he caught his first legal. Please take a look in the "fishing reports" thread. It always thrills me to see someone catch their biggest fish ever! Here's a sample..

Spent about 4 hours total all weekend fishing muskies, saw three, all nice fish. Sue had a very nice fish blow up on a Topraider and totally miss at near dark tonight ( after we got a meal of gills) and I got a big pike. We fished a 230 acre lake that isn't known for Muskies (stocked once, I think), but has some sows in it. They are reproducing, too, we catch little ones fishing crappies often.

No muskies for me this weekend. Saw lots of them, but couldn't seal the deal on any. I did manage 2 good SE Wi pike though. I stuck a 32 and 35" pike on Weagles this weekend. Weagles, not just for ski's anymore

I have to admit though, I have a bad case of weagle-itis today. Man my elbow, shoulder and wrist are killing me. I might have to go back to using it as a throw back lure, but with all the fish that I had up on it this weekend, that might be hard. LOL
(maybe I should start hitting the weights and beefing up??? Naw, then no one would call me a skinny @$$ anymore.)

Fished Deer on Hwy 8 in WI on Sunday. Raised 4 nice fish in the high 30's to mid 40's! They were all more interested in the sun and crusing then eating? We were the only boat on the lake for 4 hours! What a great lake to fish! What a beautiful day to fish as well!

Saw a dozen or so in 2 1/2 days. Only one was following, the rest were laying on the surface getting a sun tan. Absolutely no interest in eating. Even poked one with my rod tip to get it to move. Waldo, water temps in N. Wi. ranged from 56 to 63. With the warming trend this week, should be good by the weekend. Did manage 1little dink and a bunch of northerns and a few bass, so all in all a successful weekend.

I got about a day and a half in between yardwork and cookouts. We raised about 15 fish and boated 3 of them, all smaller males. Lost one good fish on Saturday boatside on about my fifth cast ever with a weagle (just another bait?). I agree with ghoti, weather forecasts point to a real good week starting now!

fished the river and had an uncharacteristically poor two days. we caught a couple of fingerlings, a couple big smallies and a 36" pike. water temps. 59 deg. and very little current. my thoughts were that they had not spawned earlier in the year, but rather were either just done or doing the deal. another week of warm temps. ahead, the upcoming weekend should be very good.

did get a good start on my racoon eyes though.

Vilas lakes had temps around 59 degrees in most lakes. Only fished muskies for about 5 hours and saw most while slamming the crappie and perch. The bugs are getting bad.
Weeds, rocks and timber.

Got this 35 inch fatty opening day. This was the only strike all day. It made the whole trip worth it though.

Between the rain, tieing bass baits on my sis-in-laws line (she lost like $40.00 worth of my rapalas), and my wife and sis-in-law slamming compartments shut, I only managed a 28" northern, and a follow from an average musky, which became more interested in my wife's figure 8. Long drive to and from Rhinelander on Saturday.

Fished 2 lakes in Oneida Co. Saturday was slow until the afternoon had 2 nice follows, 4 northerns and a guy fishing walleyes land a 50 on a 1/32 oz. jig and 8 lb. test. Unfortunately for me that trophy will be gracing his wall. Sure is nice to see some warmer weather in the forecast.

Fished in Hayward this weekend, saw 3 shorties on Big Siss., man that Hellhound looks sweet coming through the water, and the Molly's from the Kly auction dance in the water. Caught some nice smallies on Round on Friday. Here's a pike my wife caught, looks like my daughter is disappointed it's not a muskie. And my son with some crappies, who's still waiting for dad to get a muskie in the boat for him to see
