Question for Tony Grant

I know this has been covered in many books and articals but here goes. What do you expect the water temp to be at the Cave in late March and, if the water is not out of the banks and muddy as h**l, at what depth do you expect the fish to be? Will they be in a "pre-spawn " or winter pattern? Going to get my PayDay and the Piganator Trophy at the Cave in late March and am doing my homework.
Thanks,

The CAVES water temps should range from 53 to 58 degrees and on milder winter years could be higher. Bigger fish are taken in muddy water here in the spring. As waters rise look for muskies on newly flooded areas such as ramps, flats, roadbeds and parking lots. In fact a coupkle of Cabin Fever Events have been won working these aspalt areas that warm up quicker. If water is falling concentrate on creek and river channels in water from 3 to 14 feet, keeping your bait down low close to the bottom. I believe that not all muskies spawn at the same time, the spawn ranges from late Febuary to early May. On those high water muddy years we don't have much of a spawn.
Hope this helps, see ya on the water!!!
