| All in all, not too shabby. Friday I got out and walked around a nearby lake stocked with both tigers and trues. Had about a 36" annihilate my Weagle, knocking it 2' in the air (missed it). Quite a rush, and my first experience with the Weagle.
Sunday I caught this big girl on Evergreen, 46". She hit a Shallow Invader in about 17' of water in a spot that was being BLASTED by 25+ MPH winds. She positioned herself on the structure in an ambush spot just out of the wind (right where she SHOULD have been) and T-Boned the crap out of the bait. Didn't know how big she was until she pulled about 15' of line out from a drag that was set as tight as possible (no burst of speed, just steady pressure going away from the boat... "whoa" was all I could say). Saw one other on the same Invader. Beautiful Leech Lake strain and my biggest IL muskie.

Location: Lino Lakes, MN | Out on Saturday evening with my brother and Joel. My bro stuck a 37.5" Pike on a sucker, and Joel got another small pike. Not a musky seen on the night. Back at em later on in the week. Was on heck of a fat pike...thought she was a ski till she rolled as she was coming into the net.

| Hi everyone,
Not a weekend report was out on the chain on Friday to see how my new props work on the boat. I'm leaving for Canada on Tuesday for some lakers on Dryberry. Anyway I decided to also try out my 6' 10" Figg extreme rod and a new Cobbs countdown. Four casts later I boated a 35" fish out of Cathrine.
I don't know what the difference was I've fish the chain maybe a dozen times over the years and never boated a fish. This is a strange sport. The weather was great and the fact that I caught my first Ill. fish was terrific. I only had enough time to fish for another hour and never saw another fish.
Thanks

Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | Had a pretty good weekend.
We boated several smaller fish. Manta's and perch Turmoils made my Bikini Bait Company. Moved some really nice fish on Tippy James with Chris Walker on topwaters, but no takers. Switched to bulldawgs and had a really nice 45 or so come flying for it, but missed it during the 8....
Sunday fished with one of my good clients Rich and his wife Jenny from Chicago. Rich had several nice fish after his manta again, but none of the big fish would open their mouths.
Finally got this big girl to go on a Weagle in open water.

Location: Algonquin, ILL | Never made it to the Lake, Two weeks ago I had my truck in for a tune-up everything was running great up until yesterday while on the way to the lake about 10 miles from Home I would not go over 30 mph, I pulled off to the side checked the tires on the trailer and a few other things all seemed to be ok I restarted the truck the idle was fine and motor reved up ok so I started towards the lake again but after 5 miles the same thing could not go over 30mph so I decided to head back home, after limping home I let the truck sit for a while and it ran fine driving around the neighborhood but after about 10 miles the same thing.
I took the truck to the Jiffy Lube where a freind of my son works to see if there was anything he could find, he checked Fuel filter, tranny fluids engine oil, but everything was good as a last check he checked the Air Filter ( Was Replaced at the Tuneup )
it seems that a Mouse had built a nest in the chamber where the Air Filter is and as I drove the stuff was pulled into the Air Filter and not letting the engine get any air, when I stopped the stuff settled back down and the engine ran fine until I drove it again.
He cleaded out the stuff and the truck ran fine once again but by then it was too late to head out, Oh well Next time I'll get one

Location: Athens, Ohio | Thank you, Tom Hulbert, for being our host and guide for three days on Webster. Mauser and I had a fine time, don't think I've ever seen so many fish running after baits in three days. I hooked a low thirties on a Muskie Treats, only to have an upper 40's fish come after the small one, knock the bait off him and go chasing off after each other! I'm thinking of using small muskies for bait next time.
Like Mike said above, it was tough getting them to eat. Maybe next time, thanks again, m |

| Hey Mike,
How's your brother doing? I trust his recovery is going on schedual. Very good to see him post a while back. One last thing how many fish have you got in the boat this season it seems everytime I log on I see you or your clients have stuck another one. Its great to see a fisherman doing his thing on a consistent basis. Keep it up.
Thanks

| Musky Al and I shared a boat this Saturday out in Indiana. All I can say is wow. I haven't seen that many muskies in a while. All together I would say we saw about 100 muskies in 14 hrs of fishing. I boated two. One on top and the other on a glider. I lost two of the bigger fish I hooked. One I fought all the way to the boat only to lose her before we could get a net under her. That one was solid four footer. DOH! I have got some bad fish losing mojo this year for sure. We also had one of the largest specimans we've seen in a long time come up and take a look at Al's small twitch bait. This fish was trully alligator-like.(BEAST) Can't wait to get out again. |
