I just got a new garcia 7000 cl big game reel. Is this another 7000, or is the black CL a bigger or better reel? I would assume it would be good for all types of baits. I got it off e-bay and was told it is no longer made. I'd like to think I got a great buy for $87 dollars.

I'm going to cry. I have several, and they are great reels, but I paid twice as much for mine. The CL or "Big Game" is the same dimensions as other 7000's, but has 5.3 gears (the C3 has 4.1 gears). Great for burning bucktails. Tons of power and super durable. You'll love it.

pbrostuen,
Thanks for the return info. I found out from another website that the 7000cl and the 6500 cl were the only "black" reels made by Garcia. I put it on a St.Croix Premier 69HF and will probably throw some big cranks with it, and possibly troll some too. It casts really well, but it is a heavy sucker! I saw several others on e-bay after I bought mine, but the bid was about $120. Still sounds like a good deal, as they were new and in the box. They are no doubt sold, but still seem to crop up from time to time.
