OK I am a rookie to gliders. I know how to get them to walk the dog I guess, and I got a fish on a Dunwright a couple of weeks ago. However I was always under the assumption that the phantom sank slowly . I have one that floats! I can get it to glide about 6"es to a foot below the surface and that is it. Is this right?? I guess it pauses ok meaning it doesn't pop right out of the water, but is this a normal phantom????

Thanks,
MuskyDan

I've got a bunch of them, and each one seems to have a little different bouyancy. I don't think any of mine float, though.

I have one Oddyssey knock-off (not Todds) that (other than the paint job) seems no different than Todd's phantoms, and I have a knock-off knock-off that's clearly not made by either one. It doesn't float either.

None of the originals I have float as far as I know (could be wrong?)

Todd doesn't make a floater, but I do believe the lead is hand poured in each one, maybe that's why...

What color is it?

6" or 7.5"?

Do you want to get rid of it?

There were some floaters that were made a few years ago. It could have been about the time that Odyssey and Todd were attempting a merger. But whatever happened, there wasn't enough interest in the floaters and their production never really took off. I bought one floater myself but have hardly used it because the originals have far superior action in my opinion.

7.5 Crappie

I think now that I figured out what I was supposed to do with it I can find a place for it in my arsenal.

For a minute there I thought I ate a retard sandwhich or something!!!

I am gonna give her a dance this year for a while and see what happens.

You can drop Todd a line @ www.phantomlures.com and he'll probably swap it out for you if you don't like it. Todd makes a great bait and will stand behind his work.

before you go to all the trouble of weighting it,,,just upsize the hooks on the front so the head will angle down,,or if that isnt enough upsize all hooks

HH is right, 4/0 VMC 9626`s on both hooks, should sink slow. You can also soak it for 24hrs. and the action will most likely get better. I have a ton of phantoms and they are all a hair different, thats the glory of wood. Unconsistant, the way I like!
