| Does anyone have a Alumacraft Navigator 165 Tiller with a 60hp outboard on it? I am looking to upgrade my motor to a 60hp four stroke Johnson. I currently have a 40 hp 2 stroke Johnson and I am pretty low on the speed end (25 to 27) mph). I also like to troll with my motor so would I have any problems going slow enough with a 60hp 4 stroke? I was told a 4 stroke can go really slow even at higher hp ratings. Any help on theis would be great. Thanks, Tom |

Location: Fonda IA | Tom,I had a 165 magnum with a 50 4 stroke,it would get slow down to really slow speed. My new 175 magnum with a 60 doesn't.About 2.0 is as slow as it will go before I have to turn around and do it in reverse. Is your new motor carburated or injected.I've been told that it's harder for an injected motor to be slow way down.I don't know if true?Prop chice could make a difference too.Dennis Blume |

| Dennis ,I don't know yet if it is fuel injected. I have not even talked to the guy that is selling it yet. I am assuming it is. What is your high end on speed with the 60hp Magnum? Thanks, Tom |

Location: Fonda IA | My top speed are around 26 loaded to maybe 29 GPS'ed mph when I'am solo. My 165 magnum was about the same. The navagator is alittle lighter so you might get 30 real easy. The 175 is alot of boat for the 60,but for me it just right.Dennis Blume |
