Steve was in a very bad/serious truck accident monday night.
Right now he is in ICU, and is just trying to recover.
I am scared to death right now. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
His legs are broke, his left hip is broke, one ankle is broke, his liver and spleen have been injured pretty good, his lungs are bruised, his knees are hamburger, etc...
Please keep my big brother in your thoughts. He means the world to me.
Thanks Kachmann, and King Brothers, thank for your kind words. As you stated, you and your bros are pretty tight, as Steve, Tom and myself are.
Thank you all for your kinds words, thoughts and prayers. It really means a lot to me.

| To the Hulbert family, my family and I will be praying for Steve and for all of you.
As I read through this post, and others, it amazes me that we are all big tough muskie fishermen on the outside, but inside we all believe that there is a Greater Power at work and that if we pray to Him, He can and will change our lives. Jews, Gentiles....it doesn't matter, there is power in lifting your thoughts and prayers to Him so that He may help our brothers in need. I'm sure Kly is right next to Him right now putting in a good word as well.
May God watch over Steve and help him to recover. May He also give strength and courage to the Hulbert family to help them through these trying times. Trust in Him, and He will do what is right and what He has planned. Let the burden drop from your shoulders, and He will lighten your load and ease your pain and suffering.

| thanks to EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO POSTED HERE OR EMAILED MIKE, STEVE or I. we all 100% appreciate it. for real. as a family...80% of all the support we got was from the Musky World...i think the wives are starting to understand what else this sport is all about and why people like us gravitate towards each other. the support from MuskieFirst people has been overwhelming. The cards, gifts, phone calls, emails, letters..all the stuff has really touched steve. From Florida to Canada...and everywhere in between...musky guys, gals have been here for our family. thanks thanks thanks.
Steve got out of the hospital...YEA!!!! he wont be fishing anytime soon. he's confined to a hospital bed...internal injuries have stablized enought to send him home. NO PERMANENT BRAIN DAMAGE!!!! (besides what he did in college! ha). he will be recoving for awhile..someone is taking care of him. Also, steve has his new son w/ him too..so he has the baby and some support to help him thru this.
I cant even tell you how many email, calls, letters steve, mike and i got. again...the VAST majority of them from musky fisherpeople. it's been overwhelming. you guys ROCK. anyone who doesnt have a boat and needs to fish can call/email me anytime..i will take you fishing. no problem. steve is a different kind of cat...you guys being there for him really helped. we brougth the emails/posts to steve in the hospital..it really touched him that so many people were thinking about him. Steve nearly lost his life...1 month after his son, Harrison Hulbert, was born.
you guys and gals DRIVE SAFE...especially when you have your kids or spouces in the car. We lost a true HERO last year w/ Kly. that kid was just AWESOME. he truely was a one of a kind..for some reason God allow steve to live this accident. and i think steve lived so he could care for his son..who needs him.
We met the paramedics who were 1st to arrive at the scene. they called in the Life Line Helicopter to the scene. They said usually it takes about 10 minutes to cut someone out of a crushed car...20 mintues if it's real bad. it took the accident team 45 minutes to spread steve truck apart and cut it open to get him out. he was in and out of consciousness. No one, including the dr who permormed emergency when he got in, expected him to live thru this. We were told to get to the hospital asap as steve was on his way out. but...he's not dead. that's important to us.
steve is recoving out of the hospital...he's confined to bed right now..but we are hoping he's getting better. the emotional/pysche side of this for steve is permanently damaging. he's never recover from that part of it...ever.
all you guys rock. steve has pissed a few of ya'll off before, but even you guys who he offended contacted us and were really cool. what a stong testiment of how great all of you are. it's weird...eveyone uses the musky board for a different reason. sell you lures, find where the hot bite is, show off the pics of your recent catch...How about support thru a life threatening and changing even. Thanks Steve Worrell for keeping this post alive. i know it's not exactly musky related..but i thank you for it. this posts means more to steve than ya'll can imagine.
anyone need a boat a fish out of? email me anytime...NO PROBLEM. you can fish in mine anytime. some of you guys have brothers and sisters...ya'll know what's up. i dont know what else to type.

| Glad to hear he's recovering, Mike! Muskie guys are like family, man -- we fight, we disagree, but when it comes down to it, we'd all do anything for each other.
And we're tough buggers, too -- 42 and rain, we're fishing. Huing over, 2 hours of sleep, we're fishing. tore up our hand unhooking a fish? We're fishing. Steve? He'll be back fishing in no time. |
