cobb crazy shad. it works spring summer winter and fall, any speed any depth, and it stays wet more than any other lure i have so it catches more fish. a dawg would run a very very close second!!!

Well being as how I have only caught 4 muskies in my life...all on different lures...a tiger tude, a spinnerbait, a jp-6 crankbait, and a topraider...that pretty much covers all of the spectrum except for jerkbaits...I have seen the majority of my fish on jerkbaits...hybrid jerkbaits though...like squirelly burts, squirkos etc...love that squirko...awesome erratic action and easy to use...wish they made a baby one though...

Strictly percentage of strike to hook up ratio...a jig without a doubt. When they thump it, it's in their mouth. Set the hook and you are good to go. Single hook, good penetration, not one hook fighting another and no weight to help them throw it.
Second, a bucktail as stated earlier. Don't lose many fish on a bucktail. Again one treble hook or a single hook that is easy to set because there really isn't anything for a ski to sink his teeth into.

6" Jake in pike pattern. The lure is just small enough to fit in their mouths almost completely, and the three trebles grab 'em every time.

#1 Mepps Musky Killer is my go to, hook 'em up bait.

#2 Top Raider. It wasn't always a high percentage bait, but has only been beaten by Bucktails over the last two years.

Bucktail, all it is is hooks and wire. Very difficult for the fish to throw the hook.

Jigs for sure with only one hook to set you almost always get the hook to slide in. A close second would be bucktails, lots of hooks and almost nothing to bite down on.

Hundreds of muskies caught and without exception the highest percentage hookup and landing lure is the bucktail. Better than 2/3rds of the muskies caught on bucktails.
