What body of water will you be fishing for the opener? and what will be the first bait to hit the water?

Most likely Pymatuning or Presque Isle. But I may go to Pymy on Monday, so maybe some place closer for a half day. Bait I won't decide until I get there, but I plan on trying a Weagle at some point!

Do I actually have to cast the weagle or just hold it over the water and let the fish surrender?

Raze, we're considering Edinboro, Canadahota for the weekend, but still have yet to fully decide. Have you ever fished those ponds?

Raze, give me a call and maybe the 3 of us will hit Stonewall Jackson in May. Got to take my net man (Mikie). Never fished it for musky but have heard of some HUGE fish being caught there. I know there's 1 there with my name on it. And I'll even give you a FREE leason in the " South W.Va. Banjo Hold". You and Mikie pick the day and I'll be there.

Sorry, PA guys, looks like we hijacked your thread.
My May days are getting filled. I'd propose the weekend on June 10-12 for Stonewall. I think everyone who knew Brother Kly should be on the water on 6/12/05 in memorial of the first anniversary of his passing. Moonsigns be #*^@ed, this will be the day the Muskie Mojo works overtime. m

Mikie, Mauser, Raze, Etc, I'm interested in Stonewall, some big girls in there. Planning on camping? Also, the buckhannon river is awesome for numbers. Hmmmm, the possibilities.

Tomy, never tried Edinboro or Canadahota, but have wanted to try Wilhelm ever time I drive over it.......

I've never been to Stonewall Jackson, but fished Stonecoal 25yrs ago. Stonecoal is Trout stocked anually and grows some super fish. Fishing can be difficult. My boat is set-up perfectly for this lake...........

Mauser, sounds like a plan dude! More will be revieled...............

any of you guys hear of a little lake up near erie called tamarack (spelling?)? i hear that it is one of the most densely populated in the state. a couple of my buddys have fished it and done quite well on numbers, nothing big though.

Tamarack, woodcock, both good. Lot's of good lakes up that way, if work keeps kicking my ass, it may turn into a 4-5 day weekend.

Raze, I love stonecoal, I've caught some fish there, mostly earlier in the year. I usually opt for stonecoal over stonewall, some super slobs there, but may be changing my opinion on that one. I was on Stonecoal once on memorial day weekend, me and one other boat on the entire lake, ya gotta love that.

Shady, no fish out east. Bring your baby weagles, they'll bite on that.

Tamarack is electric only and is basically one big weed bed. It was drained and the dam repaired a couple years ago. Woodcock is just north of it and is 10hp limited. Both small lakes you can go over several times in a day.

BF&D, if you come out this way I will take a day or two and show you some Buckeye State lakes, just call or e-mail and gimme a couple days notice. You'll automatically lose a couple pounds in the Gambler due to the time/space warp factor. Salt Fork looked a bit muddy today, had a 50 incher come off the dam there last week by an eye-guy, who kept it for mounting, of course.

What do you guys think about a mid-June Country Cousins MuskieFirst Outing at Stonewall or Stonecoal? I have a boat for either lake. With enough West Virginians we can pass it off as a fambly reunion. m

You guys ever fish stonewall Jackson in summer? I have and I'll go to stonecoal in the summer. I have never been on a lake with so many jet skiers, pleasure boaters, etc. once memorial day hits until cold water you don't wanna go to stonewall jackson...go to stonecoal...much quieter I'm sure.

I only fished Stonewall once, during my Bass Days. It has a number of coves with standing timber that I'd think would deter most speed racers. Our MI chapter is having an outing there next weekend but I can't make it, I'll try to get a report, though. m

Sound like the making of a GOOD outing. As far as Stonewall , too many coves and timber stands to fish to worry about a jetski of 2 but I don't care, just pick to lake and time..... camping would be something to think about. Called Stonewall Jackson Lake a few minutes ago and they now have 10 cabins and a camp ground so there is something to think about. Fried 'taters and ramps for breakfast , catfish and cornbread for supper, sounds like a winner to me.
