| Patent lawyer. He would then do a Patent search, to make sure your "widget" has not been submitted previously. If OK. then you'd submit for a Patent. If granted, then sit back and rake in the dough, or not.
Never, ever, let anybody see it, or hear what it is, prior to submitting the Patent. Nobody. I know the guy who invented the Beaver Dam tip up. One winter day while perfecting it on Bago, some guy came running up , took a pic with his Brownie, and not too long afterward, it was Patented, and history. The poor guy never made a cent. But somebody sure did! |

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | Ditto- Don't tell another soul. Step #1 -> get it all on paper, i.e., drawings and written description, then get it dated, witnessed by three people and a Notary public . Each page needs to be numbered and dated. Best to not disclosed to the witnesses until you are sitting in front of the notary. I would recommend that you use your personal attorney for this part.
Be careful of Patent Attorney's & the like- some are real sharks- my brother-inlaw lost his home trying for a patent.
Seriously, go here first & read/research -> http://www.uspto.gov/
Hope it works out for you.
Good luck
Al
