Anybody use the inflatable PFD's. What do you think of them?
The automatic ones say they inflate when you are submerged under water. Could it inflate if you are in a bad rainstorm?

I use one of the manual inflatable ones. For work we have some of the automatic ones; yep one went off in a rainstorm; but everything had gotten really really really wet that day. It's not real common, but it can happen. The automatic ones require you to be wearing them to count as a PFD w/ regard to Coast Guard regs.
I really like the one I use; quite comfortable and not really in the way at all. I am, however preparing myself for the day one of my kids pulls the little tab hanging off it while I'm wearing it!

I have an auto one . When up in Canada I hit a big wake and it inflated in my storage comp. Had a heck of a time getting it out. I do ware it when the water gets cold.
