Bypass Chicago, it will cost you 30 minutes to an hour but it will destress your trip south. No real bad areas coming down except where you cross the bridge coming into KY on 65, get into the right lane on the bridge, you will quickly make a right after crossing. IN is clearly the worst state bar none for traffic enforcement. The IN cops are always a pain in the A$$. Very little enforcement in KY, little in IL, some but not much in WI-unless they have an airplane or helo up in the air. Going around Indianappolis is probably the most traffic you will see, but that is just maybe 10 miles. BTW if you are adventurous or scenery starved and DO go through Chicago, usually the best route is right through downtown, and exit downtown on the IN skyway toward IN. Stay in the express lanes if they are open. Have made the trip several times. Very manly! If you DO go through Chicago, then you need to go directly through downtown Indiannapolis, it is faster and generally has less traffic than the bypass, usually a pleasant drive, with some scenery, coming in from 74 it is out of your way and you just take the bypass south around town.

Time should be 8-8.5 hours from WI/IL state line to Cave Run.

Hoffa, plan on 13.5 hours from cities at 70-75 mph. Avoid buying gas in Chicago, paid $2.41 per gallon. 94 to 90 to 290 to 294 turns into I-80, shortest way, buy toll is $1.75 for truck and boat, rough 6-7 tolls one way. Just got back from PMTT event Scotts creek seemed produce 75% of the fish from traps to mag dawgs for size, spring or med dawgs produced the most fish. today till sundays was predicted for thunderstorm everyday, don't know how that will effect the fishing, water deffinetly will probably be on the rise again. Definitely did see more cops in Indiana.

Good luck
