Hey all -

After talking with a few people I am trying to figure who might be interested in some pool time to mess around with new lures you bought this year, maybe your a lure maker and looking to test some stuff. Anyway if you are interested post if a weekday or weekend works best. I'm still checking into the pool availability at the Brooklyn Center Community Center on Shingle Creek. I know they let some Kayak clubs in there for a few hours for about $120-150 so I cannot imagine we would have a problem. Or if you know of a better place let me know.

Post here and let me know if you are interested, weekend of weekday. Once I know what will work I see when they have time and get this hooked up officially.

I'm pretty sure right now we would have maybe 4 or 5 guys. I just want to play with my new stuff and not to mention tune some of them and possibly learn some things too.

Great Idea, but too far for me. If there is someone who has access to a pool in N.E. WI, I'm game.

Here is what I could find for pool time.

Brooklyn Center Community Center Pool
6301 Shingle Creek Parkway
Brooklyn Center, MN 55430

It's $60/hr.

The pool is 50 meters I believe she said. We cannot wear sneakers or shoes on the pool deck but clean sandles are fine. She said she has had a few people do this over the years including an older guy that comes to test out his lures every 6 months or so. No idea what he is tossing.

Anyway if we want to do it on a weeknight we can start at 8pm. She can have someone stay as late as 10pm. I think 2 hours is plenty.

If we go on a Sunday we can go after 5pm and stay until 7pm.

Anyway she said they are pretty wide open so just a matter of when we want to do this.

So I need to know what works best, weeknight, Sunday evening.

I was thinking sometime after the MN Walleye opener or the few days before.
So maybe something like Sunday 5/9, Monday 5/10, Wed 5/11 or maybe the following week. Or sooner. Just need to know what people want.

PM me or post a message.

Pretty much any week night or Sunday night works for me. The sooner the better. I got the itch to throw some lures.

How does May 3rd, 4th or the 5th work for everyone? Natalie at the pool still needs to confirm things but I think we can do it then. Let me know. 8-10pm See if we can squeak in earlier and stay later.

Right now we have 7 or 8. And I might be able to work this out with her for a cheaper rate. LOL maybe's she single and I can take her out and save you some loot. I'll do the wingman thing! HAH

Okay the date is set.
Wed May 4th from 8-10.

Location: 6301 Shingle Creek Parkway
Brooklyn Center, MN 55430
Telephone: 763-569-3400
FAX: 763-569-3434

DIRECTIONS TO BROOKLYN CENTER COMMUNITY CENTER

From the West
Take I-94 east to the Shingle Creek Parkway exit. At the stop light at the end of the exit, continue straight across Shingle Creek Parkway, into our parking lot. Park and enter on the lower level.

From the East
Take I-94 or I-694 west to the Shingle Creek Parkway exit. At the end of the exit (signal light), take a right (south over the freeway). At the first signal light turn right into our lot. Park and enter on the lower level.

From the South – Highway 100
Going north, exit at 57th Avenue North/John Martin Drive. At the end of the exit, go straight through the intersection (57th Avenue North) to John Martin Drive and turn left (onto bridge over highway). At the next street light, turn right onto Shingle Creek Parkway go to the second light; turn left into our lot. Park and enter on the lower level.

From the North – Highway 100
Going south, take a right exit off Highway 100 onto 57th Avenue (County Road 10); go to first stop light and turn right onto Shingle Creek Parkway; last set of lights before the freeway bridge turn left into our parking lot. Park and enter on the lower level.

We will be at the big pool, guess there is a kiddie pool also.

Please keep in mind no sneakers, boots, etc on the pool deck but clean sandles are okay. No booz either, not that I think any off us would really waste time with that when we have lures to toss! :D

I'm dropping off a check for the payment. It's $120 for the 2 hours. We can square things away when people get there and we see how many show up.

Anyway looking forward to this. I really suck but I can at least learn a few things from watching everyone and see how some of these lures work too.

Happy - sorry did not get your cell message until about 10 minutes ago that you left. I forget to charge that #*^@ thing! LOL

Anyway let me know of an issues or concerns otherwise I will see you there.

The reservation is under Muskie's Inc even though this is not really an offical MI deal.

Thanks to Mike for setting up this great opportunity !! It was really an enjoyable time last nite to finally get some of my new baits wet and see how they performed.

Now I am REALLY WORKED UP TO GET FISHING !!

I definately think I obtained some big fish baits this off season based on their "pool performance"

Thanks also to Todd from Phantom baits and Joe from True Glide who brought some of their baits and gave the group hands on advice and tips on using their products.

And- the added bonus of personally meeting more individuals from this board is always an incentive to attend organized outings and gatherings that generate from this site!!

Bring on muskie Season 2005 !!!!

I had a blast! It really is fun seeing how the baits work and how to work them to do different things. Honestly I don't think there would be a better way for some less experienced people, like me, to figure out how to work a bait. The clear water sure lets you know when you suck and figure it out.

Peggy - you're a blast. If anyone hasn't hung around with her, man she will keep you on your toes! And thanks for helping me with my suicks. Now I can work those.

The best part of the night came about 10 seconds after we went in. Esox lady smacked the crap out of some piping about 150 feet above the pool! Way to go!!! Not to mention several other people drilling the diving boards. God it was fun.

Thank I am going back to Friday's to check on the waitress. I don't think she really wants to get married to whoever. Honest!

Gee Mike-

Now that you've gone public with my infamous shot...

I guess you could say that my 1st cast of the season packed some adrenaline !!

I wonder what the HVAC technician is going to say when he climbs up there some day and sees this dinger on the pipe with a splash of lure paint !!

Great time- great idea. I say we do it each spring. Thanks again for setting it up !

By the way Mike........how'd that 1st backlash of the season come out?
