GMG,
They are going to do what they do regardless of when the ice goes off. Its one of those dirty little deals that we just can't change. All we can do is hope for a real uniform ice out and quick spawn across the north so every lake is happening at once. They can't be everywhere.

At least my boat floats now!!!

I understand that Norm, but over the last 5 years this has been the earliest ice out up by us, with that ice gone so early, they're going to catch those fish on the spawn for sure. Other years fish spawn under the ice and move out to weedy areas by the time ice is out.

The last 3 years I've put my pier in the friday before the opener and the ice had just gone out that week...now, it's 3 weeks before the opener.

I hope for the best, fear the worst.

Hey Norm -- open water early, isn't it great!?! We hope to crappie fish this weekend for some much needed R&R from this weeks events.

Hear the jackets are back, will see you soon or you know where we live...one way or other can connect to get them. How did the musky league meeting go? Heard Lee Bastain had back injury from fall on ice and not doing well, have you heard anything about him?

See you soon, Szq

Hey Sue,
I may get up that way this weekend, if I do I will drop them off.

Saw and talked to Lee for a quite a while. He is doing alright, it is still bothering them though. John and I discussed it with him and came to the conclusion that Lee is just plain old getting old!!!!
