| I purchased a used 1996 Tuffy Esox Magnum last fall and I noticed after a long day on the lake I would have approximately 5-8 gallons of water in the boat. I inspected the hull as closely as I could prior to purchasing and seemed to be in mint condition (I thought). I figured that I must have a hose or connection leaking, but I can't seem to find anything. Ant suggestions on other areas to look more closely? Someone on another site suggested that I fill the boat with water and watch where it leaks, but then it may take a week to dry out. Any thoughts???

Live well Hoses and plumbing
Make sure the Transom Drain Plug is in good condition, they do wearout and leak
ADD a automatic Bilge pump

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | My bet is plumbing. Fill the livewell ONLY with a hose while the boat is on the trailer with ALL drains and openings plugged with corks or plugs, and inspect the hose fittings, pumps, and all hull fittings for water dripping. Repeat with the baitwell. |

Location: Eau Claire, WI | Agree with Worrall... I've had three Tuffy's over the years, none of them ever had hull issues. One of my older magnums did get leaky around one of the livewell fittings. I removed it, cleaned it, reinstalled with new silicone and no more leaks. |

| Besides the livewell hose's check the pump fitting on the bottom of the boat, I've got an older Esox, and those have been the only two places I've found with problems. |
