| Hi guys, I'm still desparately looking for info. on the "water dog" or "water dawg"??? lures that were available and used around the st. lawrence river of northern new york state in the 1950's and 1960's ..........
Could someone please help me out with identification of such lures........
better yet, does anyone have one for sale?

Location: Appleton, WI | I thought that water dawg lure was the same as the Hellbender. but I could be wrong.
Anyway hopefully someone could verify that this is correct.

Location: Appleton, WI | I did a search on google and it appears that I could very well be correct to assume that the hellbender and water dog are synonymous.
On ebay there's a lure for auction that fits the discription of a water dog lure and hellbender.

MArk here in NY. somehow i think the water dog lure even had it's own company????? i seem to recall they made just water dog lures, but i could be wrong???? the Hellbender was something different ??? perhaps???? I appreciate your response to my request..................perhaps you could be correct???????
I know "black" was a very popular color..................
If anyone else could provide any ifno it would be greatly appreciated..................

| Hellbender was made by whopper stopper. Waterdog made by bomber bait co. Similar lures. Check the lip shape, the hellbender is heart shaped, waterdog is oval.
Both still very available. |
