I'd like to go on a fishing trip up in northern wisconsin this summer, and i was wondering which good fishing lakes have the best campgrounds/cabin rentals. Any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Lost Land Lake in hayward has a resort with a campground. Big lake near boulder junction has camping, so does the flambeau flowage. These are just a couple, there are plenty. Call up the area chamber of commerces up there and they can get you a ton of info.

Big Muskellunge Lake (nice name) offers wonderful campsites that are large and uncrowded. The lake offers good fishing, clean water with a nice beach area making it a great family destination and is fairly close to Minocqua offering the diversity of natural views and an active nightlife with great food, mini golf and nice places with fermented, adult beverages. Also, with gas prices its closer than Hayward and LandO'Lakes destinations.

Hi

I would recomend Joise creek campground on the Dairyland flowage which is a great musky fishery. The campground is very nice and quiet. The fishing is very good with muskys, smallies, and walleye all
catchable. If you're interested call the DNR office in Ladysmith, I'm sorry I don't have the number at this moment.

Thanks

Dave

I would suggest any of a number of the Rhinelander area lakes. Tons of ponds to chose from and they all have resorts on them. Of course, I am a bit partial to Pelican!

Big Lake has O.K. camp sites, the water is very shallow where the camping is. The ramp close to the campground sucks, but there is a good one on the lake. You won't be bothered by pleasure craft, there are no resorts, a lot of state land, and it holds big fish. Trout also has camping and is a nice lake with big fish, but it is hard to fish. I like working the rock humps. Later

A few of the campsites I've stayed at are:

Razorback Lake - Star Lake area - Nice campground, and clear clean water. The lake has some good smallies, walleyes, and muskies in it. There used to be some jumbo perch in there as well

Clear Lake by Lake Tomahawk (town of) - has a large campground, and 4 boat in campsites. Stayed on one of the boat in sites, and it was an awesome experience. Clear Lake has very few cabins on it as it is almost completely state owned. Giant fish of all species in there.

Lake of the Pines - 1/2 hour from Phillips - a stained water lake with nice muskies and walleyes. Also has big crappies, and a few jumbos. Just down the road (also connected via channel) is Connor Lake. Clear water, and contains some nice fish. Good walleye, perch, smallmouth, and musky fishery.
