I have the opportunity to attend a fairly prestigious midwest college in St. Paul - Macalester, which is on Summit Ave. parallel to Grand Ave.

When I started the college search process I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that having my truck with me at college would be IMPERATIVE because it would allow me to do the one thing in life I love more than anything - fish. However, as I toured colleges and talked with people it became apparent that parking would be somewhat difficult and expensive.

I ask you, my fellow muskie nuts, if anybody could lend a hand in helping me feed my sickness. I'm looking to possibly rent out a spot in someone's garage that is close to Macalester (within walking distance or a short bus-ride away). If you or if you know someone else that might be willing to help me out, please contact me via PM or email: [email protected]. Thanks!

Dude, just park on the street. What kind of truck do you have an 18 wheeler??????

You would seriously rather take a bus to your truck than just park it on the street???

Most parking meters have to be paid from 8am-6pm....you might have to get up early if you're a late sleeper to pay a meter I guess, but that's life.

As for a parking space...I think the going rate in a city garage or private storage space is $50-100+ a month depending if it's outdoor or indoor parking. I bet you can get a parking permit from the college for that much or less?

I lived a block out of downtown Mpls for years with a boat on the back of my truck all season and I was able to make it work parking on the street.

I'm so glad to finally have a garage!!!
