Location: Holly, MI | I'm Done! I know. I know. I've said that before. How about I intend to be done? You believe that?..me either.
I just got some more trolling baits in the mail today, felt like Christmas. I bought 7 from a local maker here on Lake St Clair. Don't knock my lack of cool color chioces, I'm just buyin' what works here locally. He makes awesome trolling baits. here is 4 of the ones I just got. Two 7 inchers and two 10 inchers. (they are inexpensive too, under $20 for a 10 incher?!) PM me if you want to contact him.
Anyway, who went broke this winter?
Have you seen the prices on ebaY? WOW.
Are that many people that desperate or have no other way to buy?

| I wouldn't call it going broke, just an investment to maintain my happiness and sanity...
About $300 bucks to Rollie and Helen's on baits.
Probably spent another $50-70 bucks on baits here and there
New trolling motor on the boat set me back about $800
New prop for outboard at about $350
2 new rod and reel set ups at around $200 bucks a pop.
Funny thing is with all that spent on baits I'll probably still use the homemade stuff I have a majority of the time!!
My thinking is by spending this much it justifies getting out on the water around 6 days a week and as long as I'm not married or otherwise tied down I might was well stock up on toys now because if I sleep on the couch now it is my own decision, not because I am force to!! |

Location: WI | Not there yet but getting there. This year has been a little worse than others since I decided to scrap all my Abu reels and replace them with Diawa Millionaire CVZ's all in one year.
I know what you are saying about ebay, that place is a joke, the only time I go into the musky threads is to sell stuff, those guys are paying alot more than retail on alot of stuff, mostly used stuff to boot. Its just crazy. I havent found a deal on there in a long time. I did find a great new G Loomis buctail rod that normally retail for 335 for 125+ shipping but he didnt have it listed under muskie in the search or it might have gone for 400. Whats going on with those people, obviously they have access to the internet why not check out some of the tackle shops as I regularly see baits going for 125-150% of what they could have gotten them for at Rollie and Helens or Pastikas. Ebay is starting to make Guides Choice look cheap. |

Location: Marshfield, WI | I saw a muskysize Jitterbug go for $30. It didn't say there was anything special. It looked like an ordinary one that I can get at Walmart for $6.00.
